Thank you so very much to those who were able to attend Princess Amerah’s Royal Ball! The event turned out to be such a beautiful success – raising $2,700 for Princess Maggie’s HBOT treatment!

Everyone had such an amazing time dancing, playing games, getting faces painted, and taking pictures! There was even an honorary Prince & Princess dance where Prince Adam swept sweet Maggie up into his arms and danced to “What a Wonderful World”.  As everyone joined them on the dance floor, there wasn’t a dry eye in the Ball room.

Everyone had a chance to take pictures with Princess Amerah throughout the night, which were generously donated to each guest by Book It Photography. (If you took a picture, click the link to download it for free)

Princess Amerah performed with Evil Nanny Olga captivating the enthusiastic audience of little Princesses. Who were eagerly determined to save Princess Amerah when Evil Olga started to drag her off to the dangerous castle tower.

After story time, everyone was able to take turns dancing with each other, Evil Nanny Olga, or Princess Amerah.

After all of these wonderful moments we were able to share together, and after seeing the generosity from all of our guests and volunteers at my Ball – I can’t help but quote the song that the Prince danced with Maggie to…

“…I think to myself, what a WONDERFUL World!”

Royal Ball FAQ:

• Q: What do I wear to the Ball?
• A: The Royal Ball is a formal event, so wear your Royal Best (even if that’s just a pretty dress or suit ☺)
• Q: Do parents pay when they buy their kids’ tickets?
• A: Yes, there are many fun activities for the little Prince & Princesses, but there are also treats, dance lessons, & amazing raffle prizes for the Kings & Queens too. Remember, 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales go to Maggie!
• Q: I already pre-registered, do I need a ticket to get in?
• A: Nope, since you pre-registered, we have your name on a list with how many tickets you purchased, so just show up & we’ll know who you are.
• Q: Can I pay at the door?
• A: Yes! Tickets are available at the door the night of the Ball for just $15 per ticket – cash only please.
• Q: Is this an “Open House” type event? Or do I have to be on time?
• A: It is an “Open House” type event, so you may come at any time during the Ball.
• Q: Are face painting, and other activities included in the admission?
• A: Yes! All activities, refreshments, & 2 raffle tickets are included. Additional tickets may also be purchased throughout the night for only $1 each.

Thank you for spending a very magical summer with Princess Amerah at Cherry Hill – the best Water Park, Family Fun Center, and Camping Resort in Utah!

Each Wednesday, Princess Amerah would arrive at Cherry Hill in her summer best, ready to delight and engage the guests on the “Grant’s Gulch” stage in the Water Park. Before each show, you would see the children gathering around the Princess for a chance to take pictures and receive one of her famous hugs.

During each show, Princess Amerah would choose a few lucky guests to come on stage to wear costumes and pretend to be one of the fun characters from her story! Some of the favorites included Sadie – Princess Amerah’s puppy and best friend, and Walter the Watermelon Man – a quirky, yet jolly man with a bright green mustache.

A favorite part of the show for most guests, are the 4 original songs Princess Amerah sings throughout her story time.

These songs include:

• “You Can Be a Princess, Too” – which encourages girls and boys to use their imagination, and always follow their dreams
• “I Can Belong” – Amerah discovers for the first time, where she came from and that she is a Princess
• “I Can Be Brave” – the usually frightened and shy Princess Amerah, finds the courage to stand up to the evil Queen Olga
• “I Can Believe” – this one is a crowd favorite – Princess Amerah is no longer the frightened young girl she once was, she is now a brave Princess, and this song depicts the Princess’ new found bravery and confidence.

All four songs were written for Princess Amerah by the talented Janie Wallace.

After story time, Princess Amerah joins the children face-to-face once again to take pictures, and sign Princess posters for each guest.

Because of the overwhelming response we received at the Royal Ball in October, and the love and generosity given in support of Maggie, I wanted to keep you updated on her progress with the HBOT treatment! As you may know, the Royal Ball was in benefit of Maggie to raise the money needed for these wonderful treatments. But in case you haven’t heard about this, read more about Maggie & the Royal Ball here…

Here is a recent message from Jodi, Maggie’s Mother:

It’s AMAZING! (Maggie’s progress from HBOT) Seriously, I don’t think that people can really appreciate the changes we’re seeing because they seem so small to others. But to us, they’re incredible. So, for example, she’s (Maggie) beginning to… be able to sit up on her own for about 30 seconds. She’s reached out to catch herself a few times as I’ve seen her begin to fall. Wow! She’s able to sit on her knees and hands all by herself for a few seconds. AND I actually have heard her say, “I like this” a few times. Really, I’m totally amazed. We’ve done 20 dives now. She was sick last week and now one of the tubes we had to put in her ears for the dives is infected. So we’re taking a little break, but I just can’t wait to see what happens after all 80 dives and after the other therapy we’re doing is done. What can I say but . . .I’m speechless. Thank you for being such a huge part of making this possible… Keeping up with all these therapies everyday along with all the other stuff has been a bit tough, but I think we’re starting to slide into a good groove. Feel free to pass the good news on. I’ll be updating our blog soon.
